«We have to clean this up», said manager Alex Cora to NESN after Friday’s 11-1 loss against the White Sox. «We didn’t hit, we didn’t play defense, and we didn’t pitch well today. Overall, today was a bad game. We need to turn the page. We have to be better.«
It was a complicated game for the Massachusetts team. The White Sox scored 10 runs, despite having scored only 8 runs in their previous five games. Sean Newcomb allowed six of those runs over 4 innings and struck out six batters.

«We need to turn the page and be ready for tomorrow», said Cora to NESN. «The team didn’t execute today. We know what we have to do. We need to show up tomorrow and be better».
The Red Sox were MLB leaders with 14 errors before facing the White Sox. They committed five errors on Friday night, bringing their total to 19, but 4 of those were interference calls. Cora is not panicking—it’s still early in the season, but he is aware that things need to improve.
