Alex Bregman has never experienced such a strong start to a season as he has in 2025 with the Boston Red Sox.
On Wednesday, the third baseman became the second Red Sox player to achieve a 10-game hitting streak this season, following Jarren Duran, who did so just a few days ago. Bregman reached the milestone in grand fashion, hitting his second home run in as many days.
Bregman finished April hitting .350/.429/.660, with 7 home runs, 24 RBIs, 11 doubles, and 23 runs scored. It’s the first time in his career that he has posted an OPS over 1.000 in the first month of the season. It’s also the first time he has hit 7 home runs, 11 doubles, and slugged over .500 in April.
In fact, Alex Bregman has only hit more home runs in a single month a few times in his career: 12 in May 2019, 11 in June 2018, and 9 in September 2019.
The infielder has been performing well in the current series against the Toronto Blue Jays. He has recorded four hits in his first nine at-bats at Rogers Centre, while also scoring four runs and driving in two so far.
Bregman signed a 3-year, $120 million contract with the Boston Red Sox back in February. The deal includes opt-out clauses after each of the first two seasons.
