Triston Casas was released from the hospital on Monday. He has already spent a couple of days at home, and his stitches have been removed.
The countdown to his return has begun. While there’s no set timetable yet, the hope is that he will be ready for Spring Training in 2026. The good news is that the injury wasn’t the worst-case scenario.
“He’s surrounded by a lot of good people,” said Alex Cora on Wednesday. “He’s in good hands, and he’ll be ready whenever he’s ready. The rupture he had wasn’t the worst — that’s what was presented to us. It’s the best-case scenario. The most important thing is the rehab.”
Triston Casas suffered a knee injury on Friday night while hustling to first base on an infield single. He was diagnosed with a patellar ligament rupture and underwent season-ending surgery on Sunday.
“I’m not going to be surprised if he kill the rehab,” Cora added. “He’s going to be with us as soon as possible.”
The first baseman had a very slow start to the season, slashing .182/.277/.303 with three doubles, three home runs, and 11 RBIs in 29 games.
“It’s going to take time,” Cora said about his recovery.

Triston Casas also spent significant time on the injured list during the 2024 season due to a rib injury. He played only 63 games last year and appeared in 29 games this season before suffering a knee injury on Friday.
