The Boston Red Sox are expecting to sign almost 20 players in a week when the international signing process starts, and Dominican-born outfielder Garielvin Silverio will lead the class, sources tell El Emergente.
Silverio was ranked as the 36th prospect in the MLB Pipeline international ranking for the 2026 class, and he will be one of two international prospects who will receive a seven-figure bonus from the Red Sox next Thursday.
“Silverio honed a powerful swing that has placed an up arrow next to his name among fellow international prospects,” a scouting report said on MLBPipeline.com. “That smooth left-handed swing, and the ability to leverage it for extra-base power, has helped Silverio excel during in-game action.”
The Alex Cora team is expected to sign at least two of the top 50 international prospects. They will also give a seven-figure bonus to Dawvris Brito, who is also an infielder from the Dominican Republic.
According to sources, the Red Sox will sign six players from the Dominican Republic, nine from Venezuela, and two others from Colombia.
The international class will include five pitchers, one catcher, seven infielders, and four outfielders.
Anderber Urbina is expected to be their top prospect from Venezuela, and Isaac Velásquez and Ever Miranda are the two players who will sign out of Colombia.

Some MLB teams are moving their Venezuelan amateur prospects, who will sign on January 15, to the Dominican Republic to proceed with the international signing process. MLB usually allows this five days before January 15, but they made an exception this year due to the Venezuelan political situation.
