Dawvris Brito and Garielvin Silverio will lead the Red Sox 2026 international class as the International Signing Process starts on Thursday. Alex Cora’s team will sign around 20 players during the process.
According to industry sources, the Red Sox will sign at least six Dominican-born players, two Colombians, and nine Venezuelans. It could be a little more, but information about low-bonus signings can be difficult to find.
“We have, in our two and a half decades here, been the beneficiary of international signings,” said the team’s president Sam Kennedy on Saturday at Fenway Fest. “I would give huge credit to Eddie Romero and his group in years past for bringing in players that have changed the trajectory of the Red Sox history. That’s been a huge part of our strategy.”
The two main international prospects for the team are an infielder (Brito) and an outfielder (Silverio), both ranked among the top 50 international prospects according to MLB.com.
“He is an advanced hitter,” an international scout told El Emergente about Silverio. “He has a great swing and incredible bat speed. And he can hit with power to all fields. His exit velocity can reach 100 mph.”
Both Brito and Silverio are expected to sign for seven-figure bonuses on Thursday.
“I think he is one of the top athletes in this class,” a scout said about Brito. “He has a combination of power and speed. He has a great chance to be a good shortstop.”
